Texas A&M System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation

The TAMUS LSAMP research alliance is comprised of Texas A&M University, Prairie View A&M University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M International University. The overall goal of the NSF Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program is to diversify the nation’s STEM workforce by increasing the number of STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees awarded to populations historically underrepresented in these disciplines: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and Native Pacific Islanders. TAMU programs include: Academic-year undergraduate research and summer international research opportunities in partnership with STEM colleges; Student professional development exposure through seminars to equip undergraduate students with resources and motivation to pursue graduate school; and an annual LSAMP Symposium for students to develop academic and career skills, present their research and network with peers and professionals.
