Research Communications and Public Relations

Research Communications and Public Relations serves units, centers, and institutes in the Division of Research by planning, developing, producing, or managing publications, events, websites, videos, media relations, graphics, and illustrations.

The office also curates the Research@Texas A&M website, which showcases stories about research from Texas A&M’s colleges, schools, divisions, units, campuses, and agencies that demonstrate research advances, impacts, and successes. The website also serves as a venue for highlighting research priorities and for demonstrating the university’s research capabilities.

Event Planning

Hagler Institute for Advanced Study Gala

Event management of the annual black-tie dinner ceremony (now in its tenth year) to induct the institute’s newest class of Hagler Fellows—an event that includes System regents, the System chancellor, the university president, senior administrators, faculty, and donors.

President’s Excellence Fund Symposium

An annual event to celebrate research projects supported by the President’s Excellence Fund, a 10-year, $100 million initiative designed to further Texas A&M’s commitments to advancing transformational learning; enhancing discovery and innovation; and expanding impact on our community, state, nation, and world.

Groundbreakings and Grand Openings

Including public events for the Global Health Research Complex, the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building, and the Texas A&M Institute for Preclinical Studies.

Belgian Economic Mission with Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium

The third stop on an eight-day Texas tour for the Belgian delegation, which also visited San Antonio, Austin, and Houston.

China-US Relations Conferences

A series of four bilateral conference held in Beijing, Washington DC, and College Station that brought together prominent governmental, business and academic leaders from China and the United States to promote, strengthen and expand academic and business collaborations between the two countries.

Media Relations

  • Write and distribute press releases for the division, its units, and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Manage relationships and interactions with journalists.
  • Management of risk communication on behalf of specific aspects of laboratory research within the Texas A&M research enterprise.
  • Coordination of crisis communication with Research Compliance and the Division of Marketing and Communication.

Graphics / Illustrations

  • Invitations, programs, handouts, slide decks, flyers, and other items in support of events.
  • Illustrations to support website and publications.
