Scratching the Surface: An Introduction to Fair Use

Fair use can help you determine how to use someone else's work in your article, or decide what picture to include in your book, or if you should reuse a certain table in your conference presentation. Participants will learn the fair use basics, focusing only on the four factors noted in the United States Code, Title 17, § 107.

This is an introductory session; no prior knowledge or experience is expected.

Please join Emilie Algenio, Copyright/Fair Use Librarian, for a discussion and Q & A, to understand how this legal doctrine applies to your teaching, publications, and research.
