3rd Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium

3rd Annual Banner

The Symposium, which highlighted research conducted by Texas A&M postdoctoral researchers, took place on Sept. 19, at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM ’56 Equine Complex. Twenty-two postdoctoral researchers from Texas A&M gave flash talks while 20 delivered poster presentations.

Awards were given in four categories: 

  • Distinguished Postdoctoral Flash-Talk Presentations 
    • FIRST PLACE Shahina Rahman, postdoctoral research associate, Department of Statistics, College of Science
    • SECOND PLACE Peter Brown, research scientist, Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Science.

  • People’s Choice Distinguished Postdoctoral Flash Talk Presentation
    • Samantha Bell, postdoctoral research associate, Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology, College of Medicine
    • Danila Cuomo, postdoctoral research associate, Department of Molecular and Cellular Medicine, College of Medicine

  • Distinguished Postdoctoral Poster Presentation
    • FIRST PLACE Jolene Ramsey, postdoctoral research associate, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
    • SECOND PLACE Natividad Fuentes, postdoctoral research associate, Department of Nutrition and Food Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

  • People’s Choice Distinguished Postdoctoral Poster Presentation 
    • Shakirat Adetunji, graduate research scientist, Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences
