Texas A&M University and the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACYT) are pleased to announce the 2017 Texas A&M - CONACYT Research Symposium to be held at the Hacienda Santa Clara in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, June 5-7, 2017.
This biannual research symposium gives grant awardees from the TAMU-CONACYT Collaborative Research Grant Program an opportunity to discuss exciting research projects and to pursue additional research collaborations. Awardees from 2015 and 2016 are invited to attend.

Airfare and transportation to/from the symposium will be arranged and paid for by the program as long as both principal investigators attend the Symposium. Lodging and meals will be provided at the symposium. Please note that lodging at the Hacienda is dormitory-style. See photos here. In order for expenses to be covered, both PIs must attend the Symposium at the Hacienda Santa Clara.

Please note that some areas of Mexico do not currently have an advisory in effect, including San Miguel de Allende where the symposium is located. OPTIONAL TRAVEL PROGRAM
Visit with Your Research Counterpart!
As an optional part of the Symposium, Texas A&M researchers are encouraged to visit the labs and institutions of their counterparts in Mexico before or after the Symposium. The TAMU-CONACYT program will facilitate these visits by paying for:
- the Texas A&M researcher’s transportation to/from counterpart’s institution immediately prior to or after the Symposium (from counterpart’s institution to the Symposium or from the Symposium to counterpart’s institution)
- up to two nights lodging
Researchers will be responsible for
- costs of meals
- hotel accommodations beyond two nights
- other incidental travel expenses
