This seminar

  • comprehensively addresses both practical and conceptual aspects that are important to writing competitive grant proposals
  • addresses recent changes in NIH grant proposal content and review criteria
  • emphasizes doing the “extra” things that can make the difference between success and failure

Learn how to

  • present your case to review committees using proven tips and strategies
  • write with a linear progression of logic that leads reviewers through the application without them knowing they are being led
  • write for two review audiences – those reading a proposal in its entirety and those reading critical sections only

Additional Information

  • Attendance is free, but registration is required.
  • Open to all PI-eligible researchers, post-doctoral researchers, and administrative staff of Texas A&M University. Graduate students are not eligible to attend.
  • Continental breakfast and afternoon refreshments are provided. Lunch is on your own.
  • Attendees receive an extensive handout and free copy of The Grant Application Writer's Workbook: NIH Version.
  • This seminar is required for applicants to the 2016-2017 six-month NIH Grant Proposal Writing Program sponsored in part by the Division of Research.
