Limited Submission Funding Opportunity for Texas A&M University Faculty and Principal Investigators

Limited Submission Program (LSP): This funding opportunity and the LSP is open to all Texas A&M faculty and Principal Investigators (PIs) who meet the eligibility requirements. The University and The Texas A&M University System agencies jointly administer this process to select the proposal(s) that will be submitted to the sponsor in response to this solicitation.
Institutional Eligibility: Only one application per institution is allowed.
PI Eligibility: Any individual(s) with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research as the program director/principal investigator (PD/PI) is invited to work with his/her organization to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for NIH support.
Multiple PDs/PIs are not allowed.
The proposal will be prepared and submitted by Sponsored Research Services (SRS).
Proposal Limit: One (1)
Summary: This FOA encourages applications from biomedical research institutions that propose to renovate, repair, or improve individual animal resources. The major objective of this program is to upgrade animal facilities to support the conduct of biomedical and/or behavioral research. Support can be requested to alter and renovate (A&R) the animal facilities, as well as to improve the animal care equipment in the facility. It is expected that all award funds will be expended expeditiously and that applicants will consider the use of sustainable design technologies and design approaches.
May 17, 2013: Deadline for an email of intent including the title of the internal proposal and a 1-3 sentence description of the project.
May 21, 2013: Deadline to submit an internal proposal.
All proposals for the LSP must be submitted electronically using the e-proposal on-line application system.
Be prepared to upload your internal proposal. The sections will include a 1-3 page research plan summary, bio-sketch, and budget.
The e-proposal site is password protected. Texas A&M PIs may use their NetID and password to access the system. If you do not have a NetID, from the e-proposal site, click on “Signup,” fill in the pertinent information and an account will be created for you.

June 4, 2013: Target date for the notifications to PIs of the result of the internal competition.
August 2, 2013: Sponsor deadline for the full application (due by 5 p.m. proposer’s local time).
The NIH will also accept applications for this program on August 1, 2014 and August 3, 2015
