2017 IGNITE Letter of Intent (LOI)

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation seeks Letters of Intent (LOIs) from eligible organizations to promote the Foundation’s Strategic Plan for the IGNITE Initiative.

Specifically, the Foundation seeks LOIs for funding that supports eligible applicants to offer out of school programs. Preference will be given to proposals that:

  • Are highly focused on disconnected youth
  • Serve youth between the ages of 7-18 years old
  • Reach at least 100 new youth
  • Offer summer programming

The Foundation expects that out of school programs will embody the seven program quality characteristics and maintain a focus on increasing connection in the region.

LOIs will be reviewed and selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. Applicants are encouraged to meet with Bianca De Leon, Associate Program Officer, before proposal submission.

Key Dates

Letters of intent due to Foundation via the Foundation’s online application system: June 16, 2017

Invitations for full proposals announced: July 12, 2017

Invited applicants are encouraged to meet with Program Officer before submitting a proposal

Full proposals due: August 11, 2017

Funding cycle starts: As early as December 15 but other dates may be proposed

Eligibility And Selection Criteria

Eligible applicants include nonprofit tax-exempt organizations, including churches and units of government, located in the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. See the Paso del Norte Health Foundation website www.pdnhf.org for more information about grant guidelines.

Service Region

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation operates in a unique binational environment, which stretches across two countries and three states. This region serves the 2.4 million people living in El Paso and Hudspeth Counties in far west Texas, Doña Ana, Luna, and Otero Counties in southern New Mexico, and the municipality of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
