Spring 2024 Travel Awards Recipients

Five postdoctoral research scholars received travel awards of $500 each to attend professional conferences during the first six months of 2024, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) and the Texas A&M Postdoctoral Association (Texas A&M PDA) announced today.

An independent panel of faculty members and postdoctoral scholars selected the award recipients based on merit scoring:

This year’s awardees are:

  • Dr. Stephanie Wilson, advised by Dr. Joseph Awika, professor and head, Department of Food Science and Technology, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Dr. Danielle Lemay, U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • Dr. Hongying Wang, advised by Dr. Yuxiang Sun, professor, Department of Nutrition College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
  • Dr. Marluci Muller Rebelato, advised by Dr. Cecilla Tommos, professor, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
  • Dr. Brandee Stone, advised by Dr. Jenny Hyde, associate professor, Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology, School of Medicine 
  • Dr. Meichan Wang, advised by Dr. Timothy Phillips, professor, Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
