Limited Submission Program (LSP): This funding opportunity and the Limited Submission Program (LSP) is open to all Texas A&M University faculty and principal investigators who meet the eligibility requirements. Texas A&M and The Texas A&M University System agencies jointly administer this process to select the proposal(s) that will be submitted to the sponsor in response to this solicitation.
Institutional Eligibility: The sponsoring institution must assure support for the proposed program. Appropriate institutional commitment to the program includes the provision of adequate staff, facilities, and educational resources that can contribute to the planned program.
PI Eligibility: Applicants must designate a PD/PI from each participating institution (lead/grantee and partner institutions). The PD/PI of the Lead Institution must be designated as the Contact PD/PI. The PDs/PIs must have a regular full-time appointment (i.e., not adjunct, part-time, retired, or emeritus) at the applicant institutions, and should have student counseling, academic administrative and/or scientific research experience. The PDs/PIs will be expected to monitor and assess the program and submit all documents and reports as required.
The proposal will be prepared and submitted by Sponsored Research Services (SRS).

Summary: The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this NIGMS R25 program is to support educational activities that enhance the diversity of the biomedical, behavioral and clinical research workforce. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on Courses for Skills Development, Research Experiences, and Curriculum or Methods Development. A proposed program must include each activity and describe how they will be integrated.
The Bridges to Baccalaureate Program is intended to provide these activities to community college students to increase transfer and retention to BS graduation in biomedical sciences. This program requires partnerships between community colleges or other two-year post-secondary educational institutions granting the associate degree with colleges or universities that offer the baccalaureate degree. Applicants should directly address how the set of activities will complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation’s biomedical and clinical research needs by discussing 1) the rationale underlying the balance of effort and resources dedicated to each activity; 2) how the activities integrate; and 3) objective indicators that can measure the effectiveness of the program. Recruitment and retention plans are required elements of the program.

All proposals for the LSP must be submitted electronically using the e-proposal on-line application system.
Be prepared to upload your internal proposal. The sections will include a one-three page research plan summary, two-page bio-sketch, and preliminary budget.
