Letters / Memos

To create a uniform, professional image for correspondence issued from the Division of Research, we recommend a style and format to be used in all letters and memoranda. This guideline consists of specifications for letters and memoranda, and must be used for correspondence that uses vice president’s letterhead.

NOTE: If you are preparing a letter or memorandum for the president or the provost’s signature, the president and/or the provost’s format should be used, which is slightly different from the division's format. In these cases, ask for a copy of a sample letter and/or memorandum from the Office of the President or the Office of the Provost.
