The NIH Specific Aims Clinic is for researchers who wish to write a clear, compelling, peer-critiqued Specific Aims page for a future NIH research grant application.

Event Information

From Research Development Services in the Division of Research

  • The Specific Aims Clinic will meet three times during the Spring 2018 Semester.
  • Participants will share drafts of their Specific Aims and provide and receive critiques from their peers.
  • At the kickoff meeting, experienced NIH application reviewers will critique the Aims drafts of selected participants.
  • At the second and third meetings, participants will read and provide feedback on each other's Aims drafts.
  • Junior faculty and those who have not previously applied to the National Institutes of Health for grant support are encouraged to consider attending.
  • Open to PI-eligible researchers only.

  • In addition to registering (click "Sign up!", below), submit your Specific Aims draft and NIH Biographical Sketch to  by February 22, 2018.
  • NIH provides general instructions for preparing the Specific Aims. Contact the facilitators (see below) if you need additional information.

At this time, this clinic is not offered via TTVN or through another web-based program. If you are a Texas A&M researcher at a campus outside of College Station and would like more information on this topic, please contact Dr. Ivy and/or Dr. Papke. They will be happy to visit with you.
