The Texas A&M Cancer Research Council (CRC) online portal is designed to provide faculty-researchers at Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M Health Science Center, and other investigators across the state with information about funding opportunities and solicitations offered by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) and by federal research sponsors and foundation. The portal facilitates access to Texas A&M programs and scientists involved in cancer research.

- National Cancer Institute Fellowship opportunity
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program (CPFP) is now accepting applications for Cancer Prevention Fellows. As part of the program, fellows receive the opportunity to obtain an M.P.H. degree at an accredited university during the first year, followed by mentored research with investigators at the NCI. Research opportunities exist across the spectrum of cancer prevention research, including: epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical services, laboratory, nutritional, and social and behavioral sciences. - 2012 Texas Cancer Plan
CPRIT has announced the 2012 Texas Cancer Plan. The Texas Cancer Plan (the Plan) aims to reduce the cancer burden across the state and improve the lives of Texans. As the statewide call to action for cancer research, prevention, and control, the Plan identifies the challenges and issues that affect our state and presents a set of goals, objectives, and strategies to help inform and guide communities in the fight against cancer. - Prevention research of David McClellan, M.D. of the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine is featured by CPRIT. Dr. McClellan describes in a video his CPRIT-funded work in educating the uninsured and underserved residents of Brazos County about risks of colon cancer, as well as medical training for colonoscopies.
